Soap & glory - Flake Away!

Can you tell I've been loving Soap & Glory products recently! They are such an amazing brand.
Today's product is all about a Body Scrub called "Flake Away".

I've never been obsessed with a product as much as this scrub. and I can't believe I'
ve waited for so long to pick this product up!

This is one of the best scrubs I've used so far. First of all, I love the packaging. It's got a gorgeous light pink tub with uber funny quotes on it which I'm a big sucker of. O-m-G this stuff  smells amazing. It has shea butter, sugar and peach seed powder spa body polish, Grapeseed and almond oil in it.With all of these ingredients it smells ah-mazing!!!!! (eeep.. i have to stop freaking out now). Unlike any other scrub, this has flakes in it instead of granules. All you got to do is take a palmful in your hands and start rubbing in on your skin in small circular motions until all the flakes are gone. Rinse and then pat dry! Apply moisturizer after and fall in love with smooth, silky skin that you won't take your hands off of!

It retails for 65 AED for a 300 ml Tub! These are available at any Boots Pharmacies across the UAE!

I can't say enough good things about this product but i'm in love with this and i just feel like if there's one product i would recommend from this brand it would be this scrub! (and another thing which i'll talk about in my next post)

So I urge you all to go pick it up and try it!

What do you think?!

Homemade DIY Body Scrub!

Why spend $$$$ on a Body scrub when you can make it at home and make your skin feel baby soft?

Today, I have a simple DIY Body scrub which I've tried and tested as well and would love to share it with all you girls! It can be used anywhere on the body, lips and the face.

Reminder: Make sure when your using this on the face, you use granulated sugar so that the grains are fine and that you don't end up scratching yourself ( we don't want that. Yikes!) . If you don't have granulated sugar you can simply put normal sugar in a food processor and grind it. You can also use Brown Sugar which is great for dry or sensitive skin as i feel it's a lot lighter than using white sugar.

The results are amazing! and you can feel it immediately. Your skin will feel baby soft and glowing and make you smell great as well (If you put in any essential oils along with the scrub).

Ingredients required:

  • 1/2 Cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 Cup Sugar (fine for the face, normal granulated sugar for the body)
  • Bowl
  • Mixing Spoon
  • Jar with a Lid
  • Muslin Cloth (optional)
  • Few drops of any Essential oil whatever you prefer (optional - Vanilla. mint, Lavender etc.)
Mix the Sugar with olive oil in a bowl. Put in the essential oils if your using any at this point.
Get in the shower, Wet your body. Take a palmful of the mixture in your hands and start scrubbing (gently)  in small circular motions all over.Rinse and pat dry. Thats it!

For the Face use the scrub very very gently to make sure you don't end up scratching the skin and also make sure the sugar granules are fine. Use a muslin cloth to wipe off. No need to rinse it off!

The Great thing about this scrub is that any skin type can use it and it works great and gives results instantly. Oily skinned people, don't get thrown off with the olive oil because It's naturally a good type of oil to use and it doesn't clog pores.

If anything is left off, you can store it in jar with a tight lid and use it once every week and it can be stored for upto weeks. Don't worry if you see the oil not mixing well with the sugar. They are meant to never dissolve in each other and it doesn't spoil as well. just mix it again with a spoon and re-use again.

VOILA! - simple and Easy!
Ingredients used: Extra Virgin Olive Oil, White Sugar

Mix the Olive oil and Sugar in a bowl

This is what the end result should look  like.
Let me know if you've tried this yet? and what are your thoughts!
Enjoy!
