Emirates Airlines Makeup!

I don't know about you guys but I just love the uniform and makeup by the Emirate Airlines Crew. So i decided to dedicate this post on the Makeup worn by them.

Emirates is known for it's classic red lip and uniform. You can Google their uniform and makeup looks. Some of it's basic rules is to wear Red/Nude/French Nails, Wearing only stud earrings, no other lipstick color apart from red is allowed and Hair should always be in a bun.

Ofcourse I didn't put my hair up in a bun for long because I just look like a football.! eek.. it's not a pretty sight. I wore a full sleeved white collared shirt paired with a black flowy knee length skirt, Skin colored stockings and one-inch pointy black heels.

Regarding the Eye makeup, it has to be really subtle but the eye
liner could be dramatic or as thin as you want it. I haven't seen crew members wearing smoky or dramatic looks on their eyes. It's just very subtle with a bold red lip. I used "play on plums" Eyeshadow from MAC which was a limited Edition Product. The Light Pink Shade all over the lid and the slightly darker plummy color i wore on my outer corner and blended it out  so it looks very subtle and smooth. You don't have to use too much of this as your not making it dramatic at all. I like using my Eyeliner very thick and dark so that's what i went for. As for a highlight color, on my brow bone - BootyCall from Naked2 palette is a really good one. Contouring your face is really important as it helps shape your face properly (NARS - Laguna). Blush should look very natural and should give a pinched like effect so apply a subtle color that would give your cheeks that effect. I used "Desert Rose" from MAC.

Classic Red Lip: Onto the Most important part of the look - the Lip! It's very important you get this part right. You have to get the right shade to suit your skin color. There's lots of red lipsticks out there which are orange based, blue based, dark cherry and just plain old normal red. After you get your shade, get a suitable Red Liner to suit the lipstick that goes with it as well. For me, this was such a hard decision to make. I spent a week trying to find my best shade. Hence, after a long struggle and debate, I chose 002 shade by Kate Moss and a exaggerate Lipliner in 024 Red Diva by Rimmel to go with it. These two worked so well with me and it compliments each other beautifully.

I would also wear this look on a night out as well because of the bold red lip and some nice curls. Normally Girls are really scared to wear red as an everyday color but i feel that red  compliments every skin tone beautifully and effortlessly (once you find your perfect "red" shade
.)

What do you think about this look and Red lips in general?! Have you found your shade?

Review: Revlon | Just Bitten Lipbalm+Stain

These are probably the most disappointing product by Revlon this year. Not really a big fan of the packaging or the lipbalm+stain. It comes with a Double-ended marker with the stain on one side and the transparent balm on the other. I really didn't like the idea of applying marker stain on my Lips. I felt to be the least comfortable on my lips. Felt like the tip itself is cutting through my lips and burning it. Maybe my lips are extra sensitive? I'm not sure.
.

Left to Right: Passion and Victorian

The color pay off isn't that great because you have to go over with many coats in order to get one perfect opaque color. The balm on the other end just adds some glossiness over it. Although it looks great in the tube, on my lips it didn't work out so well or help it look like i had a stain. The stain wore off quick

I wouldn't re-purchase this again! :(

Have you tried these out? Did it work out for you?

Review: Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butters!

Everyone raves about these lipbutters and i guess i'm one of the last people to get a hold of these. Now I understand why it's been raved by so many people. I find these lip butters to be the best in the drugstore market out there. Revlon has definitely come up with some great balms this summer and it's definitely living up the hype that it's created all over the beauty community.

I got these in 5 shades and I absolutely love all of them to the core. The shades i got are "Lollipop, Pink Truffle, Sweet Tart, Strawberry Shortcake and Peach Parfait" Although my favorite so far has to be "Strawberry Shortcake". There are about 20 gorgeous colors and it's just hard to pick which a few.

Although it doesn't contain SPF I think these balms are most definitely more moisturizing. The Longetivity on these balms are not the best, you would have to keep reapplying them over and over.I personally don't mind reapplying this as it gives me a moisturized and slick look. It's easy to apply, glides on like a charm and i literally feel like i'm on top of the world .Some of them are opaque and definitely looks like a lipstick with a gloss on top. But some of them you'll have to apply layers to get an opaque finished look.

This product is priced at 8.49 CAD at walmart. It's slightly higher in Shoppers Drug Mart.

Overall, i love this product. It definitely is a staple for me this summer :)

What are your favourites from these butters?

Review: Maybelline Babylips Moisturizing Lip Balms

Left to Right: Cherry Me, Pink Punch, Peach Kiss

I think these are the worth the latest hype in the Lip balm world. Maybelline has definitely come out with some amazing spf lip balms in all different colors. There are about 6 colors (including a transparent one)  of which i picked out three of them to my liking.
These three stood out to me the most. The other ones which were Peppermint, Grape wine and Quenched were ok but i didn't think i would like them as much. My favourite one so far has to be Pink Punch. Its got a lovely color payoff and smells really fruity as well.

Left to Right: Cherry Me, Pink Punch, Peach Kiss
There are definitely plus points regarding these lip balms but there are cons as well.

Pros:
- contains SPF 20 (which is alot for a lip balm)
- color is sheer but definitely buildable.
- smells great (Above smells like cherries, fruitpunch and peaches)
- moisturizing

Cons:
- I've felt that it doesn't linger on your lips that long as it claims it does and it definitely dries
out the lips. Its not meant to cure chapped lips. You need to keep re-applying after every
  couple of hours.
- It's a fun item to have but it does nothing clinically.

Here are some swatches of these lip balms.
Cherry Pie: Nice reddish pink color with sort of a cotton candy smell to it
Pink Punch: Baby Pink color with a fruity punch scent to it.
Peach Kiss: It's definitely a nude color with gold shimmer in it and smells like peaches in a tube.

Have you tried these out? What do you think? and which one is your favourite?

Review: Max Factor Xperience Sheer Gloss Balm

The Great thing about The MaXfactor Xperience Sheer Gloss Balm is that it's got SPF 10 which is compulsory during the summertime. I know alot of poeple think spf is not important but trust me, your lips need some sort of nourishment in order to avoid dry, dull and flaky chapped lips.

I accidently picked this glossy balm one random day at the Dubai Mall. To be honest, wasn't really expecting anything from this but the color attracted me to it. It's a pink color with a bluish undertone. I'm attracted to colors like this. The fact that it stays on your lips and keeps them protected and nourished is definitely a plus point for me.It goes on smoothly, isn't sticky and glides on like a charm . The color is sheer but its definitely build-able.

Its reasonably priced as well so it wont hurt anyone's wallet :)!

 Here's a swatch - Rose Quartiz 06

What are your favourite lipbalms that you discovered recently?

M.A.C Interview Makeup!

Hey all you lovely people!

So i had my MAC interview a couple of months ago in 2012. I was called in for my interview on Day 1 and i wanted to share with you guys how i wore my makeup. They had requested i do a heavy smoky eye. I have a few pictures to demonstrate how i wore it.

I decided to go with this beautiful
Silvery Smokey Eye look as it did really well in complimenting my outfit as well. I was unsure if i was suppose to wear all MAC makeup on my face? but since i have sensitive skin, (my skin breaks out with MAC Face products) i went ahead with the Sleek ACID palette which is all Mineral based pressed eye shadows as shown below. I used the silvery grey color and black on the bottom right of the palette with the matte white color in the inner corner of my eyes. . I used Mineralized Skinfinish in the color "Shimpagne" as a cheek and brow highlight. Nars Laguna bronzer was used as a Bronzer along with my MAC Blush in the color Melba (Matt). Makeup Forever's HD Foundation in the shade "130" and Conceler palette in shade N11.
The only MAC product i used was the Lipstick and the lipgloss. I used my all time favourite Lipstick which is "Speed-Dial" along with a little bit of Viva Gaga Gloss Version 1.

Picture from http://www.myashop.ro/paleta-sleek-acid

Regarding the outfit, unfortunately i don't have a pic of it but MAC requested me to wear all BLACK so i ended up wearing a black dress which i found in New Look for a very reasonable price, a Black Blazer on top with some black stockings and black pointy one inch heels. Jewellery i had this cute chain by Aldo and some gold earings to go with it.

Unfortunately, I didn't get called back due to lack of experience and not having a professional Make up Degree !

Oh well, Atleast i tried. I hope you guys enjoyed this look as much as i did loved wearing it.

Review - NARS : Foreplay

Every year NARS comes out with beautiful Blush Palettes. This year it has to be simple sophisticated beautiful Blush quad which i think would complement every skintone.

This is the very first palette I love by NARS which is great for my medium to olive skin. It's very natural looking and blends really well. I'm not really a fan of orgasm because it just looks muddy and too shimmery for me. This palette combines Orgasm with a matte pink and peach blush and a tones it down to give it a bright beautiful glow. Also comes with a gold shimmering highlighting blush which you can use on your cheekbones to give it that subtle glow.

I tried this palette out in Sephora and absolutely fell in love with it. But i don't think i would splurge on it as it is quite pricey. There are other blushes by NARS that i love and adore and will stick to that as i find those a little bit to be more of an everyday look.

This retails in Canada for 58 $ as well. It's well on the pricier side of blushes.

What do you think about this palette? Would you splurge on it?

Review: L'oreal Voluminous Mascara Carbon Black

This is my All Time Favourite Holy Grail  mascara. So i decided to give this mascara it's own post because it certainly does deserve it.
I've tried lots of Mascaras but i feel like this gives me the best application using just one coat. My Lashes are thick, long and gives it that flared out effect without using a Eyelash curler (bonus). Alot of my friends and family swear by this mascara. The Formula is not wet unlike many mascara's i've tried and it stays on all day without budging. I have the non-waterproof version and it just gives my lashes that unbelievable lasting power.
Let's look at the Brush applicator. It's a thin wand with a dome sized brush that has a lot of micro fiber's that give it lengthening effect. The formulation isn't dry or wet. Seperates my lashes evenly and makes them volumised and lengthened in just one coat.

Here's an application with just one coat, Effect: Flared ,Volumised and thickened!

Upward view of the lashes been seperated and lengthened with just one coat of this Mascara!

Applying a second coat of this mascara gives the following effect. I also added whatever was left on the brush onto the botton lashes. Look at the effect.

Whats is your Holy Grail Mascara and why?! What would you recommend me to try?

The Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains

First of all, I gotta say how beautiful does Emma Stone look in this picture?! I think she's just looks smitten with love.

Revlon describes this product as  "It’s a pampering balm fused with a lightweight lipstain in an adorable chubby crayon. Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain gives softer, smoother lips with a perfect flush of color that lasts hour after hour. The gel formula comes in 12 vibrant shades that match any look or mood."
I Agree 100%.
I didn't like the other version which was the "Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain". That was a two sided product with a stain on one end and a balm on the other. There are a only a few lipbalms that I really love (& I'm such a lip junkie) so when i heard about this and the fact that it was a crayon chubby, I wanted to get my hands on it.

I love all the shades and it retails in Canada for $10.49 which is slightly pricey for a Revlon product.
Personally I love the packaging and I just love the way how it you don't have to sharpen it once its done. It just twists from bottom side up.

I got the shade "Charm" (as shown above). It's such a light pink with a blue undertone. I am in looove with this color. I love the waxy moisturizing stain on my lips They stayed on all day and had my faith that my lips looked amazing even after the next day. They also have a minty sort of smell and taste but that goes out after a while so that didn't really bug me at all.

Let's look at the pros and Cons of this product:

Pros:
- Moisturizing
- Waxy jelly
- Easy to Use
- Very Glossy
- Not Sticky at all

Cons
- Minty flavor and Smell *which i personally don't like
- Very pricey for a Drugstore Crayon Chubby Stick.

All in all, It's a win-win situation for me. I will get my hands on some other shades and stock them up because I'm so sure Dubai will not get this product till the next 1 year maybe!

Have you tried these out? What are your thoughts? Which color is your favourite?

Face From Day to Night!

This is how i transformed from Day to Night :)!

Day Time Look:
For Daytime, I suggest going on a simple all over lid color with some cat eye like Black-Brown Eyeliner and bold lips if you dare ( I Dare :D) It looks alot but i've added some shimmery color on my brow bone to give it a little more extra oomph which is not required but i did just for some daring fun. I have my hair up in this picture to give it a more sophisticated and more polished look so that it looks more professional and neat for your work/job in the office.

Night Time Look:

For Nighttime, I added a crease and outer color to my eyes with an extra help with false lashes to give it that flared effect that i absolutely love on my eyes. I added a pink blush along with some contouring all over the face. I added a lip-gloss to the bold lip that i wore during the day to give it a little bit of glossy and shiny effect. I put my hair down and kinda made it look all messy by curling up the ends a little bit to give it a little bit of a wavy effect . Changed my outfit to a black dress as well. If you have bangs, do flaunt it but i didn't have it as i like my hair in layers without bangs. This is great for parties, a night out or a simple date/dinner :)!

Hope you guys liked it.
What are your tips to go from day to night?

Review : Green Bar Moisturizing Oil

I received this product in the Glambox of July here in the UAE. I gotta admit when i first got this product I was really skeptical to try it. The thought of having oily and greasy product on my dry skin was not appealing to me at all. I use oil based on my hair because my hair is so fine, dry and brittle. It works like a charm on me so I decided to give this a go and i am so proud of the results!.
You need a tiny bit of this product on your body and it has many positive results. My skin has never looked more dewy, glowy or smooth. I am absolutely in love with this product and I highly recommend to try it if you get your hands on this.

This product is high in oleic acid which supports the  skin's elasticity and resilience which leaves your skin feeling non-greasy and deeply nourished whilst allowing the skin to breathe all at the same time. Pretty cool right?

Let's look at some pros and cons!

Pros:
- Feels Non-greasy when applied on your skin.
- Gives your skin this beautiful glowing and radiant skin.
- Stimulates The Lymphatic System, combats cellulite (Definitely a plus point for me) and
   helps to prevent stretch marks.
- Doesn't linger onto clothes or the bedsheets or anything like that.

Cons:
- The Scent is a bit too strong for my liking. (strong Citrusy / Grapefruit smell)
- Only Available in the Middle East at the moment.

Overall, I absolutely love this product and i highly recommend it.  I'm not too sure how it work on oily skin type people,  Although it says it works with all skin types.

Has anyone tried this one yet? What are your thoughts, Concerns.?
