My Bouncy Curls with a Straightener!

Throwback Thursday:

I was looking back at my pictures from last year and I must admit I do miss my "Long Hair". I think personally you can achieve many different types of hairstyles and style it in different ways as well .Here's a couple of pictures of my long hair in loose/tight curls that I love.
I achieved this look with a straightener after I briefly saw my friend do it on me. Annnnnnnnd I was amazed how it made my hair look without using an actual curler. Ofcourse with a few times of practice and a carelessly burnt hand/finger, the results were amazing and it looked so natural and I find it better to use than an actual curler because its faster and it curls 10x faster. I was done within 12 minutes with the big huge head of mine!.

Here are some "posed" pictures to prove the former statement i just made. Ignore the face for now and focus on my Luscious locks *grins*.

So, how did i achieve these curls, Wait for it....

The Straightener that I have used is the one below in Satin blue Finish 1.25 inch wide floating plates from PYT:

On the website, they describe this straightener as "The Ceramic Styling Tool features 100% ceramic plates and an ergonomic body that allows for super slick straight hair, soft voluminous waves and tight spiral curls."
I've had this straightener for almost 2 years now and it works like a charm.
Onto some pros and cons!
PROS:
- I love how its curled along the sides of the ceramic blades so it's easier to curl and does NOT leave any creases while you style your hair.
- It also leaves your hair frizz-free and shiny!
- 100% Ceramic Plates
- Adjustable Temperature Control
- Ready to use within 10 seconds.

CONS:
- It's around 250$ (yikes) which is more expensive than a GHD or a Cloud nine (which are   known brands and what many people swear by)
- Gets dirtier around the sides of the plates after a while. Really need to wipe it clean after using it.
- It can get really hot so you got to be extra careful! (yikes)

Overall, I'm really happy and satisfied with this straightener and it gets the job well done.!

Whats your favorite Straightener? And how do you curl your hair?
Comment below & Let me know if you want a tutorial on how to curl your hair using a straightener and i will get right into it for you guys!

Bring on the Spring Nail Polish Love!

Spring is in the Air..... with these gorgeous spring Nail Art Designs. I must say people are really talented when it comes to Nail Art and I've been hooked on many of these which are on Pinterest. They look hard to do but are quiet easy to accomplish. They just require a steady hand and some patience (which i clearly don't have either) and then VOILA you've got a crazy Nail art Design ready for spring. :D

I love experimenting with different color palettes and I for one love the spring pastels along with some great neon and fluorescent colors mixed with each other. There are different techniques used for each type of nail art design but they are definitely not hard. Polka Dots and Floral Pastels are also in this season. Polka Dots, i find, are personally easiest to do in my opinion. Just apply a solid base color polish and dot using a dotting tool to the nail.

Here are some of my favorite Jaw dropping Nail art Inspirations! (all from Pinterest)
Btw, I'm totally Addicted to Pinterest. Follow me there as i drop a pin every now and then on hair, makeup and Beauty!

Are you loving these nail designs?!

Corals with turquoise !!

Oh My God~

How adorable is this combination. It's easy to pair up with and layer different accessories to make it more fun and stylish. I love how it looks good on any skin tone and it's easy to pull off. You can make it really casual from shorts to office wear to beach wear to pj's and also for a night out at a club. Just depends how you style it and what you wear that can make it stand out.

This Color Palette is been used from home decor to wall paint designs to furnitures to two-toned accessories etc. It's amazing how this combo looks fresh and spring/summer-ish.

It's adorable, sexy, cute and stylish all at the same time. I can't say anything more but just looking at the pictures below can give you an inspiration of what to look forward for spring :)

Maxi skirts for spring !!

Hello beauties,

Lets talk the fashion find for this weekend: Spring Maxi (long) skirts. I'm absolutely in love with this trend. I love the long flared like effect which makes you look taller and slimmer.

Personally I find it very hard to find long skirts that suit me. It's hard to find something that looks great with your body type and also not too long enough that it would sweep all of the Dubai floors when I'm walking in it. (We have all been there..yikes !! )
I've seen many stores carrying these maxi skirts but I have yet to find something that makes me look good.

Pairing Maxi skirts of any color is easy. You need a simple white colored tank top or crop top or a t-shirt  anything white ( other colors also look good  but i prefer a simple white top). It's so versatile - either just wear it simple or with lots of culti colored accessories or just a fun one tone look.

Here are some pictures I grabbed from Pinterest for all of you to drool over!

Have you gotten your perfect long skirt?
Let me know and share a pic if u dare ;)

Micabella Cosmetics: Foundation Review

I've been meaning to blog about this Brand but never got around to doing it. I've heard alot about this brand and one of my friends introduced me to this brand as she swears by it. My friend is quite fussy about the products she uses on her face as her skin is incredibly sensitive so she has to be extra careful.

Mica Bella Cosmetics is not a brand that you hear about everyday. It is a brand that is getting its name out there slowly and eventually might be one of the best selling brands out there. As the name of the Brand suggests, the products are all made out of Mica (an important ingredient which works wonders on the skin apparently.) I got my hands on this brand in a kiosk in a mall while i was in Ottawa, Canada. My friend had told me all sorts of wonders this brand does for the skin. It's essentially a brand that is all Mineral-Based. It's Foundations to blushes to eye shadows, etc are all mineral based. You can use them dry or wet depending on what look your going for. The eye-shadow colors are anywhere from Matt to shimmer to crazy glitter in all sorts of colors as well.

The Foundations also come up with a great range from the darkest to the lightest. The shade i got is "Cream Caramel". The way it works is that you use a synthetic brush and use a little bit of the foundation onto the brush and just in circular motion and buff it all on your skin. You will see after this, that your skin looks flawless. Their foundations can be used as concealers as well and blend in really well with the foundation as well.

The ingredients that these contain are: Mica, Sercite, Black Iron Oxide, Red Iron Oxide &Yellow Iron Oxide. It also has SPF 15.

The Best Thing about these powders is that you don't need to take the makeup off and you won't break out at all (kind of like Food for the skin). It's also suppose to last forever and never expire. I'm not really sure about the latter part but the fact that it made my face looked "flawless" and "natural looking" was amazing. It hides imperfections. hyper-pigmentation  scars, freckles etc. so flawlessly that you can't even tell that you have put something on your face.

These are pretty expensive to get but if your at a kiosk, the lady there could give you a great deal or a bargain. I have tried it and now it's become my staple piece of makeup I use in my everyday makeup. A little goes a long way with this product and It will last you forever.

More information about the brand can be found at: www.micabella.com
