Dove Hair Fall Rescue - Intensive Root treatments!

Hey Beauties,

My Hair use to be my best Asset but overtime - sun and heat damage, weather conditions, styling products, chemicals in shampoos and conditioners, hair color etc, have just made it so awful and horrendous. My hair is no longer thick and no longer shiny or strong and its all mainly because of hair fall and breakage. So, Dove came out with a  product to reduce/treat Hair Fall that obviously i wanted to try. It's called the Dove Hair Therapy and it comes with these 7 little vials of power-shots.

These are basically intensive root treatments that you put on your scalp and hair for a period of 2 weeks- using one vial powershot every alternate day. They contains trichazole with ginseng & soy-protein (which sound amazing to me). I've tried products like these before and they did wonders to my hair so i wanted to try something from an affordable and easily accessible brand like Dove and see what i think of it. I was really impressed with the results. My hair has reduced hair fall after using it for two weeks and its visibly stronger as well. I would recommend not blow-drying your hair every time you wash it or use any heat stylers or creams that may rip off the natural elasticity of the hair itself. Overall, really impressed and love this product. i would recommend it to anyone who has damaged,dry,frizzy,easily-breakable hair.

These are available at any department store( Carrefour, Hyperpanda, Lulu etc) or pharmacies all across the Middle East at a very affordable price.

How to Apply:
1. All you need is a fresh clean damp scalp, one power-shot vial and a rat-tail comb. (It's pretty       simple to apply.)
Freshly washed Scalp with toweled dried Damp Hair

Dove Vial Powershot

Rat-Tail Comb
2.) Next we will part the hair starting from anyside you want  in about 1 inch sections shown             below using the rat-tail comb.

3.) Now, using the vial, we will squeeze out some of the product down this side of the scalp that
you had sectioned off before and run it along till the crown of your head.

4.) Now, using your fingers massage gently into the roots of your hair in small circular motions.

5.) Now, comb through the lenghths of the hair.

6.) Repeat steps 2-5 along the rest of the your head sectioning about 1 inches part by part till you are done with the top part of your head. Using whatever is left in the vial, squeeze out everything in the palm of your hands, flip your head upside down and using both your hands massage this along the bottom part of your head focusing on the scalp and root area in small circular motions.
7.) Voila! Your done! Now you can just style it as usual That was easy. It is a bit time consuming but at the end it's all worth it. You don't need to rinse your hair. Leave it in the hair till you wash it next.

Have you guys tried this out?! Let me know! What other products would you recommend for hair fall?!

Sonia Kashuk 07- Hidden Agenda Concealer Palette - Light Shade

Hey Beauties!

Today's post is all about a Drugstore Concealer.

I'm not really a fan of face products! But this just caught my eye in the Makeup section of Target. It's from the brand - Sonia Kashuk. I'm probably the last person to discover this hidden gem but i'm absolutely over the moon with this palette.

It contains two concealer shades, a neutralizer and a translucent powder.

The two concealer shades & neutralizer (to cover redness) are creamy, soft, easy to blend and works like a charm to cover any spots, blemishes, Dark circles, eye bags, etc. The trick is to take a little bit and dab it in the skin by pressing it down with your ring finger and not to drag it across. You can add more coverage by building it more but I would recommend the less the better - you don't want to look fake!

The Powder is the final touch as it sets the concealer and not make it move throughout the day. Since i live in Dubai which is unbelievably hot & humid, this sticks to my face and doesn't budge. I do powder throughout the day but that's all it needs. The concealer stays put and doesn't come off.

I would recommend this to anyone who can get their hands on this hidden gem. It retails from
$10.49 at Target (this is where i got mine). They have redesigned their packaging(which i dont have) to include two brushes as well.

Have you tried this baby out?

Soap & glory - Flake Away!

Can you tell I've been loving Soap & Glory products recently! They are such an amazing brand.
Today's product is all about a Body Scrub called "Flake Away".

I've never been obsessed with a product as much as this scrub. and I can't believe I'
ve waited for so long to pick this product up!

This is one of the best scrubs I've used so far. First of all, I love the packaging. It's got a gorgeous light pink tub with uber funny quotes on it which I'm a big sucker of. O-m-G this stuff  smells amazing. It has shea butter, sugar and peach seed powder spa body polish, Grapeseed and almond oil in it.With all of these ingredients it smells ah-mazing!!!!! (eeep.. i have to stop freaking out now). Unlike any other scrub, this has flakes in it instead of granules. All you got to do is take a palmful in your hands and start rubbing in on your skin in small circular motions until all the flakes are gone. Rinse and then pat dry! Apply moisturizer after and fall in love with smooth, silky skin that you won't take your hands off of!

It retails for 65 AED for a 300 ml Tub! These are available at any Boots Pharmacies across the UAE!

I can't say enough good things about this product but i'm in love with this and i just feel like if there's one product i would recommend from this brand it would be this scrub! (and another thing which i'll talk about in my next post)

So I urge you all to go pick it up and try it!

What do you think?!

Bio Oil

Bio-Oil Available at Boots Pharmacies all across UAE

I wishhhhhhhhhhhhh I had found this product when I hit 20 where I officially started to get stretch marks, baggy skin and scars (from shaving legs). I've been obsessed with this product ever since i got it.
It claims to get rid of:
  • Scars
  • Stretch Marks
  • Uneven skintone
  • Ageing Skin
  • Dehydrated Skin
Although a small amount of this is enough to use. After shower, I like to apply it generously in all problem areas which are my thighs, tummy, butt, legs, hands and lower-back  Apply it about 2-3 times a day for about 2-3 months in order to see pure heavenly radiant even toned skin. I have extremely dry skin so this really helps me alot and I go through bottles of these like water! it's crazy. Massaging it well into your skin is the key for this product.

It's safe for the face and Pregnant women to use as well.

Price Range
Its available in three sizes and i just wish the packaging would be a pump (It would've less messier and easy to use)
  • 60ml - 45 AED
  • 125ml - 80 AED
  • 200ml - 120 AED

I've seen my scars and stretch marks lighten over time and hopefully will be cleared slowly and it helps my skin looking soft and radiant and just pure beautiful (not Patchy and dry like it used to be- ugh).

Its available in all Boots pharmacies across the UAE.

Have you tried this product?!

Soap & Glory - Clean on Me Shower Gel

Soap and Glory is a brand that I do trust and love. I've heard alot about the brand and also have some Holy Grail products from them as well. But some of them have let me down for sure. Not all products are great but the brand in general is really good.

My Recent Purchase from them has been the "Clean on Me" Creamy Clarifying Shower Gel. I've used this product almost everyday and i must say it's just a normal/ordinary product. I don't see the hype behind it. It's not bad but its not great either. I must say though I do prefer this body shower as opposed to the B&BW's shower gels out there. Unlike most  shower gels I've tried, this one has salicylic acid which helps with the skin/pores to stay nice and clear and keeps the skin from drying out .A small dollop amount is enough to be used, lathers really well and lasts the whole shower. It smells light, clean and fresh. It doesn't linger that long at all though which is something that i really wanted out of this. I've used this in conjunction with my face wash to add salicylic acid and it worked really well. (That's what vowed me but i used a very tiny bit)

I bought the Full size product which is 480ml (55 AED) which is alot considering a small amount goes a long way with this. It's not cheap but comparing to other body shower gels and the quantity you get, the price is right. It's available in all the Boots Pharmacies in UAE.

Have you tried this product out? What are your thoughts?!

Review: Vaseline Healthy Even Tone UV protection Lotion

I love it when I find drugstore products that work. It's so hard to find something that truly lives up to its name. VASELINE is a company that I've been using since I was a baby and has been my lifelong friend whose never let me down.

I've heard so many people talking about this product so i wanted to give it a try and test it out to see the results on my own. I suffer from uneven skin tone around my knees, elbows and I have bad dark scars from waxing, shaving etc from ingrown hairs on my legs which is noticeable.

This particular lotion has Vitamin B3 which helps in hyper-pigmentation to help even out the skin tone, make it radiantly glowing and has triple sunscreens to protect from the UV Rays of the sun. It's recommended to use this product for 2 weeks religiously twice everyday to see the optimum results.

This lotion has a runny consistency and you need a very small amount, just rub it in circular motions on the skin until its absorbed which takes a few seconds to do and voila. The Smell is amazing as well and lingers for quite sometime. I apply this first thing when i wake up in the morning and before going to bed at night. I also use it after taking a shower where my skin just feels moisturized, hydrated and glows all at the same time so it looks healthy as well.

The Results I find are astonishingly amazing. I love how my scars have gone lighter on my legs. My knees and elbows have started to blend in with the rest of my legs and hands and is starting to look oh-so-amazing. I've only used this for about a week and a half and it's become one of my favorite time products of all time. I'm going to try this out for a long time and update you all with before and after pictures.

I would recommend this product to anymore. It lives up to its name and it does exactly what its made for plus it's really really cheap. You can find this in your local supermarkets, drugstores etc.!

Have you tried this product yet?! What are your thoughts?!

Homemade DIY Body Scrub!

Why spend $$$$ on a Body scrub when you can make it at home and make your skin feel baby soft?

Today, I have a simple DIY Body scrub which I've tried and tested as well and would love to share it with all you girls! It can be used anywhere on the body, lips and the face.

Reminder: Make sure when your using this on the face, you use granulated sugar so that the grains are fine and that you don't end up scratching yourself ( we don't want that. Yikes!) . If you don't have granulated sugar you can simply put normal sugar in a food processor and grind it. You can also use Brown Sugar which is great for dry or sensitive skin as i feel it's a lot lighter than using white sugar.

The results are amazing! and you can feel it immediately. Your skin will feel baby soft and glowing and make you smell great as well (If you put in any essential oils along with the scrub).

Ingredients required:

  • 1/2 Cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 Cup Sugar (fine for the face, normal granulated sugar for the body)
  • Bowl
  • Mixing Spoon
  • Jar with a Lid
  • Muslin Cloth (optional)
  • Few drops of any Essential oil whatever you prefer (optional - Vanilla. mint, Lavender etc.)
Mix the Sugar with olive oil in a bowl. Put in the essential oils if your using any at this point.
Get in the shower, Wet your body. Take a palmful of the mixture in your hands and start scrubbing (gently)  in small circular motions all over.Rinse and pat dry. Thats it!

For the Face use the scrub very very gently to make sure you don't end up scratching the skin and also make sure the sugar granules are fine. Use a muslin cloth to wipe off. No need to rinse it off!

The Great thing about this scrub is that any skin type can use it and it works great and gives results instantly. Oily skinned people, don't get thrown off with the olive oil because It's naturally a good type of oil to use and it doesn't clog pores.

If anything is left off, you can store it in jar with a tight lid and use it once every week and it can be stored for upto weeks. Don't worry if you see the oil not mixing well with the sugar. They are meant to never dissolve in each other and it doesn't spoil as well. just mix it again with a spoon and re-use again.

VOILA! - simple and Easy!
Ingredients used: Extra Virgin Olive Oil, White Sugar

Mix the Olive oil and Sugar in a bowl

This is what the end result should look  like.
Let me know if you've tried this yet? and what are your thoughts!
Enjoy!

Protecting Yourself from The Sun!

Hey beauties,

I think it's safe to say that SUMMER IS HERE! woohooo... Par-tay! Par-tay! The Winter Jackets come off along with the boots, scarfs, scarves, gloves and it all gets replaced with Tanktops, shorts, skirts, dresses, flipflops, sandals etc. How everyone's mood suddenly changes and becomes cheery, The Flowers, the Beach, the great outdoors and most of all the sun which comes out after all the winter blues and cold windy weather. aaah - Spring/Summers in the air! what a great Feeling.!

While being in the sun is glamorous and getting a good tan on, it's important to protect yourself from the harsh rays of the sun and be extra careful as it does a great amount of Skin Damage/Cancer/Pre-Mature Aging etc.

Dubai gets extremely hot during the summer and the temperatures reach upto a 50 + Degrees with humidity and wind. So, it's really not the best place to stay out all day at all. In-fact  the summers here are quite unbearable and sweaty  (to me at-least its very annoying). I can't go to the beach without enjoying the sea breeze and sweating profusely all at the same time. Even Evening time ain't that glamorous as it still stays hot if your out for more than 5 minutes. It's quite upsetting to say the least but nevertheless here are some tips to keep you safe:

1.) Drink Lots of Water. Sounds pretty simple but a lot of people don't really realise how dehydrated they get without drinking water. Atleast drinking 2 litres of water everyday all day is really important to  keep you from fainting and/or getting a stroke.

2.) Avoid the sun during 11am-3pm: The sun's rays are almost perpendicular to the earth during this time which means the rays are direct and harsh and since it contains harmful UV rays, it's easy for the skin to get cancer as well.

3.) Protect with Sunscreen:  Try using SPF no less than 25, on any part of the body that has been exposed (i.e. not covered with clothing). Wearing Shorts and tank tops is great, but make sure your covered with sunscreen lotion and keep re-applying every couple of hours. Trust me, getting sun-burnt is the last thing you want on your mind. Also, Helps with pre-mature aging so it's a plus!

I use VICHY Sunscreen 50+

4.) Wear Protective Clothing: Get a Hat, It's fashion forward and looks chic at the same time. This will help keep the sun out of your face. Wearing full sleeves and tights that are designed for summertime is also a good option to wear since its pretty hot and you don't want to feel gross.

5.) Put a Tint on your Car: If your allowed in your country where you live, getting a tint on your car no less than 30 percent can help a great big deal. Puts the rays out of the sun out while your driving. You can also opt to wear cotton gloves while driving so that the color of your hands start to mismatch the rest of your body! yikes.

6.) Lastly, Wear Sunglasses: I can't stress how important wearing your glasses are. It's not only a great fashion statement but it helps protect your eyes as well. You don't need to splurge on sunglasses as they are many brands that do cheap glasses and offer protection from UVA/UVB. So, put it on every-time your in the sun. Helps with premature aging of the eyes and plus you don't have to squint !

Hope this helps all you Summer lovers out there!

Stay Safe! and Enjoy!

My Bouncy Curls with a Straightener!

Throwback Thursday:

I was looking back at my pictures from last year and I must admit I do miss my "Long Hair". I think personally you can achieve many different types of hairstyles and style it in different ways as well .Here's a couple of pictures of my long hair in loose/tight curls that I love.
I achieved this look with a straightener after I briefly saw my friend do it on me. Annnnnnnnd I was amazed how it made my hair look without using an actual curler. Ofcourse with a few times of practice and a carelessly burnt hand/finger, the results were amazing and it looked so natural and I find it better to use than an actual curler because its faster and it curls 10x faster. I was done within 12 minutes with the big huge head of mine!.

Here are some "posed" pictures to prove the former statement i just made. Ignore the face for now and focus on my Luscious locks *grins*.

So, how did i achieve these curls, Wait for it....

.
*tadaaaaaaaa*

The Straightener that I have used is the one below in Satin blue Finish 1.25 inch wide floating plates from PYT:

On the website, they describe this straightener as "The Ceramic Styling Tool features 100% ceramic plates and an ergonomic body that allows for super slick straight hair, soft voluminous waves and tight spiral curls."
I've had this straightener for almost 2 years now and it works like a charm.
Onto some pros and cons!
PROS:
- I love how its curled along the sides of the ceramic blades so it's easier to curl and does NOT leave any creases while you style your hair.
- It also leaves your hair frizz-free and shiny!
- 100% Ceramic Plates
- Adjustable Temperature Control
- Ready to use within 10 seconds.

CONS:
- It's around 250$ (yikes) which is more expensive than a GHD or a Cloud nine (which are   known brands and what many people swear by)
- Gets dirtier around the sides of the plates after a while. Really need to wipe it clean after using it.
- It can get really hot so you got to be extra careful! (yikes)

Overall, I'm really happy and satisfied with this straightener and it gets the job well done.!

Whats your favorite Straightener? And how do you curl your hair?
Comment below & Let me know if you want a tutorial on how to curl your hair using a straightener and i will get right into it for you guys!

Bring on the Spring Nail Polish Love!

Spring is in the Air..... with these gorgeous spring Nail Art Designs. I must say people are really talented when it comes to Nail Art and I've been hooked on many of these which are on Pinterest. They look hard to do but are quiet easy to accomplish. They just require a steady hand and some patience (which i clearly don't have either) and then VOILA you've got a crazy Nail art Design ready for spring. :D

I love experimenting with different color palettes and I for one love the spring pastels along with some great neon and fluorescent colors mixed with each other. There are different techniques used for each type of nail art design but they are definitely not hard. Polka Dots and Floral Pastels are also in this season. Polka Dots, i find, are personally easiest to do in my opinion. Just apply a solid base color polish and dot using a dotting tool to the nail.

Here are some of my favorite Jaw dropping Nail art Inspirations! (all from Pinterest)
Btw, I'm totally Addicted to Pinterest. Follow me there as i drop a pin every now and then on hair, makeup and Beauty!

Are you loving these nail designs?!
